New "Volunteer Connections" Blog Launched
February 18, 2010

With a goal of illustrating the ways in which Brooke Grove Retirement Village (BGRV) volunteers "touch people's lives," Volunteer Services recently launched a blog entitled "Volunteer Connections." A blog is a public Web page that provides commentary or news on a particular subject.

According to Director of Volunteer Services Nancy Ochsenreiter, who created the blog and serves as its editor, the venture is an informal opportunity to make readers more aware of the variety of wonderful things that volunteers are doing at BGRV, while also ensuring resident privacy. In addition, the blog will provide information about BGRV's Volunteer Services program, volunteer needs on campus and volunteerism in general.

"I was looking for a way to frequently share stories about our volunteers and how they impact life on our campus every day," explained Ms. Ochsenreiter. "A blog seems to be the perfect way to highlight our volunteers, share information and allow feedback from volunteers about their experiences. I hope that our blog will be fun an informative for everyone."
