tickets will be donated
to the Alzheimer’s Association of the National Capital Area
to continue Brooke Grove’s ongoing support of this vital
organization.
Tickets for the event are currently on sale through Brooke Grove
Retirement Village. The individual ticket price of $75, of which
$60 is tax-deductible, includes the 2 p.m. performance as well
as a pre-show reception. Beginning at 12:30 p.m., the private
reception will celebrate the work of the Alzheimer’s Association
of the National Capital Area and feature board representatives
from that organization.
Sine its beginning, Brooke Grove has had a strong commitment to
caring for those with Alzheimer’s disease and memory impairment.
Each fall, Brooke Grove steps up to become a major sponsor in
Montgomery County’s Memory walk to raise funds that will
support programs and services for those with Alzheimer’s,
their families and caregivers. Additionally, Brooke Grove reaches
into the community to identify business partners and individuals
committed to making a difference in the lives of those affected
by this disease.
“This partnership with the Olney Theatre Center gives us another
opportunity to raise necessary dollars that will benefit the Alzheimer’s
Association’s programs, while also raising the community’s
awareness of the tangible support and hope that is offered by this
organization,” said BGRV Director of Community Relations Susan
Frazier. “Join us for an inspiring afternoon in

support
of this event as we focus on growing positive partnerships that
make a difference.”

“The Miracle Worker” is a dramatic exploration
of persistence and love, based on the true story of two lifelong
friends. Young Helen Keller, blind, deaf and mute from a childhood
illness, cannot communicate and is out of control. Her family
is desperate for help after six years of attempted treatment and
no cure. To their rescue comes Annie Sullivan, a “half-blind
Yankee schoolgirl.” Annie has her work cut out for her as
she battles Helen’s silence and darkness, not to mention
Southern conventions and skeptics. Inspiring to all ages!
